Sophie Roberts

Landscape Architect

Sophie’s design philosophy is centred on creating inclusive public landscapes that celebrate cultural and social identity through thoughtful placemaking. With a background in spatial design, she emphasizes how the human experience intersects with the built environment, exploring the ways in which people interact with and move through spaces. Her designs are informed by a keen attention to the subtleties of materials, surfaces, and site furnishings, ensuring that every detail enhances the user’s connection to the landscape.

Before joining Churchman Thornhill Finch, Sophie gained valuable experience working in New York and New Zealand, where she contributed to projects including affordable and supportive housing, public parks, retirement villages, and community playgrounds. Outside of the office, Sophie enjoys traveling, sewing, and embroidery.
